Kristin Joannou Lyon is the content lead for the Enhanced Learning Maps project at the University of Kansas. She supervises and contributes to creating instructional resources based on best practices in the English language arts and mathematics guided by portions of a research-based learning map. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and her master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Florida.  She has six years of experience teaching special education, middle school mathematics, and middle school science in Florida and an international school in Beijing, China. While earning her PhD in Special Education from the University of Kansas, she worked on Dynamic Learning Maps and the SWIFT center. She was an Assistant Professor in Special Education at Illinois State University before returning to the University of Kansas.
