"What I think is unique about what Kansas is doing (with the Blueprint for Literacy) is that we're listening to what the districts, their staff and their families are saying their needs are to inform decisions about professional learning that will reach all students. The assessment will help legislators, schools and the Kansas Board of Regents better understand what's going on in schools, informing a "state of the state in terms of literacy instruction."

KS Blueprint for Literacy
Dr. Suzy Myers (KU CRL) and Dr. Haiying Long (KU School of Education & Human Sciences) spent the day at the Kansas Capitol sharing new research on the state of literacy in Kansas for Literacy Day at the Capitol. They joined School of Education representatives in supporting funding for the Blueprint for Literacy. The event was organized by the Kansas Board of Regents.
