What are three words you would use to describe KUCRL?

Innovative, Valuable, Collaborative

Before working for KUCRL, what was the most interesting or unusual job you had?

I was a transcriptionist for a while, mainly transcribing police reports and court proceedings. The job itself wasn't too unusual but some of the reports I had to transcribe were pretty crazy.

How do you balance your career and your personal life?

I remember reading an interview with author Nora Roberts who was asked a similar question. She responded that, "the key to juggling work and family life is to know which balls are made of plastic and which balls are made of glass." She goes on to explain that some work balls are glass and some are plastic, as is the same with family. You must prioritize the glass balls even if that means you drop a few plastic balls. Ever since reading this interview, I try to prioritize my life in a similar fashion. Sometimes a plastic family ball may need to be dropped to prioritize a work glass ball. And sometimes a work plastic ball may need to be dropped to prioritize a family glass ball. Learning how to recognize which balls are plastic and which are glass is the true challenge.

What's a fun fact about yourself?

I have a knack for musical instruments. I grew up playing four (piano, flute, guitar, violin) but I have this ability to pick up any instrument and be able to play Mary Had a Little Lamb within about 10 minutes. So far, I've tested this ability with saxophone, clarinet, and trombone.
