Fusion Reading - Assessment
The Assessment Component is designed to provide individualized data that informs and personalizes instruction.
Every unit in Fusion Reading begins with diagnostic assessment that allows teachers to differentiate student placement within the program. This ensures that students receive specific instruction to meet their learning needs.
Formative data-driven daily progress monitoring is carefully documented in each instructional unit. Formative data are also gathered daily for each strategy’s instructional session and during the various practice activities. This information is used to help assess individual student progress and provide immediate, individualized, positive, and corrective feedback to students.
Overall achievement gains are usually documented by district end of grade assessments, and/or standardized reading measures. These data are used to assess the overall impact of Fusion Reading. The five images below demonstrate some of the assessments used in Fusion Reading.
